Recently, Shanghai Changjiang Bridge finished it load testing before the opening, and the bridge will fully be open to traffic in 31, October, 2009. Shanghai Changjiang Bridge and Shanghai Changjiang Tunnel form the whole Shanghai Changjiang Tunnel-Bridge, which is the longest Tunnel-Bridge project with its length of 25.5 KM. The length of Shanghai Changjiang Bridge is 16.5 KM, and its main bridge aperture is 730, which is fifth longest cable stayed bridge in the world.
In the load test of the bridge, more than sixty construction waste trucks were used in the different tonnage testing. Before the testing, several GPS receivers had been installed in the appointed point and in the whole testing process, in each second horizontal and vertical data have been sent to the bridge monitoring centre in real time. The data have been displayed in real time on the CHC GPSensor system, at the same time the data have been recorded for further analysis. After the comparison and analysis of different monitoring data by different devices, the technical export from the load test team reported that the horizontal and vertical data of CHC GPSensor system met the project requirement, and the CHC GPSensor system passed the testing.
CHC GPSensor System has already been successful applied in several bridge deformation monitoring system since 2003. More bridge morning projects are under contacting and in process.
